July 13 Visible Mending

Visible Mending

From stains to tears to holes to frays, find joy in repairing and breathe new life into your
most-loved items. Learn the basics of visible mending and how to repair different types
of fabric. Instruction will be tailored to the needs of the participants. Techniques covered include—hand sewing, darning, felting, and patchwork. Learn the significance and history of mending through time.

This class is BYOC—bring your own clothing that needs repair! All mending supplies
will be provided. Additional take-home visible mending kits will be available for purchase.

Bring to Class:
-Up to 3 items of clothing or accessories that need repair. Items must be made of fabric
that is knitted or woven (including denim and sweaters).
-Any special fabrics, lace, thread, buttons or other embellishments you might like to add to your clothing.
