Our weekly art program offers the opportunity to work with professional artists in a variety of mediums and styles. Instructor Jessica Sinks has a thoughtful and friendly approach to teaching. Her wit and curiosity as an artist translates well to teens looking to discover and pursue their own visual languages. Regular exercises in observational drawing and creative design build confidence, while well considered prompts enable and inspire collaborative conversations and unique self-expression. This is an excellent course for portfolio preparation for specialty middle and high school auditions, for colleges. A variety of mediums are used throughout the year.
Summer Studio is a more open media exploratory class, giving kids a chance to try paint, sculpture, collage, printmaking and more. With a constant focus on drawing and creative expression, students begin a dialogue between various mediums and step closer into their own styles.
