Peppermint Pocket Skirt Sew-A-Long
Create a garment with the support of a Sew-a-long! Instructor Delaney Smith-Vaughn will walk you through the steps of sewing The Peppermint Pocket Skirt, from start to finish. The Pocket Skirt is a great beginner’s garment, and covers sewing skills such as understitching and sewing in an elastic waistband. You’ll take home a finished garment, instructions, and a paper pattern.

This workshop is geared toward folks who would like to take the next step by sewing their own garment. It is beginner-friendly, but please come with basic sewing skills, such as sewing a straight line and threading your machine. 

You’ll need to bring your own sewing maching, thread, and 2-3 yards of fabric. Please choose a woven, medium to heavy weight fabric like linen, double gauze, cotton twill or silk noil. There will be basic sewing tools and ironing stations available, but it’s suggested to also bring pins, scissors, and a seam ripper.

Delaney Smith is an artist, designer and educator, and based in Denton, TX. She has been teaching art for most of the past decade, and creates sculpture with paper and natural dyes. www.delaneysmith.studio
