Intro to Twined Basket Weaving
Wednesday, October 14, 6-9pm,
Location: 2313 Beatrice St. Suite #100
Instructor: Dallas Weaving Co. (Emily Robinson-Sogan and Emily Schmidt)

Unwind from your weekday by working with your hands and picking up a new skill: Basket
Weaving. Students will learn the fundamentals of the craft and take home a small, freshly woven basket as well as the know-how to continue a new hobby! We will be using traditional rattan basket reed, all materials included.

Class outline:
- Traditional twining will be taught using round, rattan basket reed
-We will sketch our desired basket shapes first as a point of reference
-Learn to form a simple basket base, weave the side walls, and finish the border

Emily R. and Emily S. met while working as textile designers in Dallas. Connecting over their shared love of fiber arts and all things weaving, they have dreamt of finding a way to bring people together while sharing their knowledge and passion for textile arts.
