Intro To Machine Sewing
Saturday, March 21, 3-6pm
Instructor: Jackie Ramirez

Curious about sewing but not sure where to begin? This intro-to-sewing workshop is the perfect place to start. Designed for true beginners, this hands-on class introduces the fundamentals of using a sewing machine while guiding students through the creation of a reusable mini tote bag—a practical project you’ll actually use again and again.

Students will learn sewing machine basics including threading and unthreading, winding and inserting a bobbin, adjusting stitch length and tension, and practicing different stitches. With plenty of guided practice sewing straight lines, you’ll build confidence at the machine as you assemble your tote step by step.

No prior sewing experience is required. Students are encouraged to BYOM (bring your own machine) so they can learn on familiar equipment. If needed, rental machines are available at an additional rate. This class is relaxed, supportive, and focused on learning—not perfection. You’ll leave with a finished tote bag, foundational sewing skills, and the confidence to keep stitching on your own. Seats are limited—register early to secure your spot!

Fabric for tote bag
Thread and basic sewing supplies
