Camp Description:
Zines – short for “magazines” – are handmade booklets of art, writing, and anything else we see fit to print! Come learn the ins and outs of D.I.Y. publishing. We’ll combine creative writing, comic panels, drawing, collage, and more, to make our master copy, then reproduce them to produce a limited, hand bound edition of zines. Whether you'd like to create a mini-graphic novel, a poetry collection, a book of art, or some combination of all these, zines are the perfect art form for creative expression.
Instructor Lisa Huffaker founded White Rock Zine Machine, a collaborative project offering zines through funky, sculptural vending machines. So far, White Rock Zine Machine has popped up in bookstores, galleries, and museums, been featured in D Magazine, and presented the work of dozens of writers and artists in over 8,400 zines!
NOTE: This camp is at the Bishop Dunne Campus and is open to general public:) Join us!
