Camp Description:
Let's learn the creative art of sewing! In this four day class students will learn about the history of the huipil, a traditional garment primarily worn by women in Mexico and Central America. This tunic style garment can be made as a shirt or dress. Students will work with and learn from master seamstress and teacher Jesse Bartlett, who has been sewing since she was a tween herself. Learn the basics of machine sewing, master beginner skills, and start and finish a sewing project. Besides new sewing abilities, your student will come away with independent management skills and a great sense of accomplishment. This special camp is limited to 8 students. Students should bring their own sewing machines, but we have 4 machines available for rent (first come, first serve).
Students must bring this sewing machine. We have 4 available to rent.
