Beginners Quilting Block Class

Celebrate spring with a little quilting magic! In this beginner-friendly workshop, students
will learn the fundamentals of quilting while creating a charming ladybug quilt
block—perfect as a standalone piece or the start of a future quilt.

Designed for confident beginners, this class focuses on the building blocks of quilting:
selecting fabrics that work beautifully together, accurate cutting, thoughtful piecing, and
proper pressing for clean, polished results. The instructor will guide students step by
step as they use a sewing machine to assemble their block, gaining skills that transfer
easily to larger quilting projects.

Participants should have a basic familiarity with sewing machines and be comfortable
sewing a straight line. The studio will have a limited number of machines available, or
students are welcome to BYOM (bring your own machine) if they prefer working on
familiar equipment.

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a completed ladybug quilt block, new
confidence at the machine, and a strong foundation to continue your quilting journey.

-Fabric for the ladybug quilt block
-Cutting tools and rulers
-Irons and pressing supplies
-Studio sewing machines (limited availability)

What to Bring:
-Sewing machine (optional—BYOM encouraged if you have one)
-Basic sewing machine knowledge (must be able to sew a straight stitch)
