Camp Description:
In this special teen camp we will be inspired by high reaching ridges of saguaro cacti, the hot sun warming expanses of sand and the prickly pear dotted with crimson blooms. 

Translate images of the desert into an original work of embroidery with visiting instructor Erin Frisch. Students will combine different elements of the desert to construct their own desert landscapes. Students will also have the ability to use provided embroidery patterns or draw their own design.

Class will include an overview of embroidery techniques including: selecting materials, pattern making, preparing your hoop, and “painting” with thread using the satin stitch. Creativity in color selection, stitching, and following your instinct is highly encouraged with guidance from the instructor. This camp is beginner-friendly!

Students will take home their own starter embroidery kit that includes hoop, cotton fabric, needle, thread snips, and embroidery patterns.
