Flower Pounding + Slow Stitch
Sunday, August 23, 11-2pm
Instructor: Maria Luna
Slow down and explore natural dying techniques and surface design using spring flowers and leaves. Learn how to transfer flower prints onto cloth with ecoprinting techniques and create vibrant compositions with individual flowers, petals leaves and stems on natural fiber textiles. Ecoprinting is a beautiful way to preserve the fleeting colors of summer onto fabric wearables or home linens. Floral prints will be further embellished with slow stitching and embroidery. Select from a silk or linen scarf. Bring a friend or mom and make it a Mother's Day Celebration.
All will have access to Maria Luna's extensive collection of natural textiles, stitching floss, floral materials and additional supplies to create a unique work.
Materials included:
Silk or linen scarf
Floral and botanical specimens
Assortment of natural textiles
