Create a sculptural wrapped thread work on wood whilst utlizing an array of threads to create pattern and rhythm. Learn how to wrap, bind and secure thread on a wooden support creating a balanced composition. Additionally, learn and apply color theory to construct your balanced artwork.
All materials and tools included.
Instructor Bio:
Gina Garza is a Dallas based Artist born in San Antonio, Texas. She attained her MFA from Texas Women’s University in 2011. During her graduate studies the artists Agnes Martin, Sol Lewitt and author; Roland Barthes held a strong influence on Garza’s work. Upon the completion of her MFA and soon after, Garza exhibited in many juried and non-juried exhibitions within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. In 2019, Garza was chosen to participate in an artist Residency located in Barcelona, Spain. Using line and color, her work primarily focuses on eradicating the subjective and dismantling the ego.
