Discover a unique way to create compositions, by creating them IN the paper instead of ON it. We will make sheets from naturally dyed abaca fiber, then cast them onto various objects we have arranged into compositions. The results are tactile and dimensional. The second day, we will gather together after the paper has dried to see the results. You’ll leave the workshop with a basic knowledge of papermaking, and how to get your own papermaking studio started. No experience necessary. All materials included.
Bio: Delaney Smith is an artist, designer and educator, and based in Denton, TX. She has been teaching art for most of the past decade, and creates sculpture with paper and natural dyes. www.delaneysmith.studio
