Arts Magnet Prep: Speed Still Life

This course is designed to empower budding young artists, aged 10-14, with the skills and confidence they need to create eye-catching still life compositions that will impress during auditions for local arts magnet schools. I n this course, students will master the art of capturing the essence of objects in a matter of minutes to prepare for audition settings. Through a series of interactive lessons, Kenya Diaz, a Booker T. alum will guide students through essential techniques, to build their students confidence in creating a composition on the spot!

Instructor Bio:

Kenya Diaz was born and raised in Dallas, Texas .   

Collaged images in her paintings and small sculptures are inspired by family stories and her upbringing as a First Generation Mexican-American. She is currently a Special Events Coordinator and Children’s Art Instructor at Oil and Cotton.
